Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of cooking experience preferably in a healthcare setting
- ServSafe certification or ability to obtain certification
- Ability to read and follow recipes
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of Mississippi Department of Health guidelines
- Ability to take instructions and follow through
- Valid driver’s license

Job Duties
- Prepare three well-balanced meals daily according to Harbor House menus and standards
- Follow recipes and food preparation guidelines accurately
- Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and dating
- Monitor inventory and report shortages
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen
- Follow ServSafe, infection control, and the Mississippi Department of Health guidelines
- Communicate calmly and respectfully maintaining professional boundaries
- Use de-escalation strategies when stress arises
- Accept supervision and feedback for professional growth
