Job Requirements
- Associate's degree, typically in Culinary Arts
- 0-1 year of progressive work experience in Food Services with knowledge at the level of a Food Services Assistant or 2-4 years of progressive work experience with similar knowledge
- physically able to perform manual labor associated with the role including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, walking on cement floors, balancing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, typing, talking, and hearing
- compliance with the State of Wyoming dress code policy
- successful completion of background/reference check, medical evaluation, and drug testing
- willingness to work in a secured correctional environment
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree, typically in Culinary Arts
- knowledge of food safety practices, handling, and temperature control
- knowledge of basic employee supervision methods
- knowledge of meal preparation and quality controls
- knowledge of procurement, receiving, and storage methods
- knowledge of State and Federal food preparation laws
- knowledge of handling, storage, and sanitation
- skill in written and oral communications
Job Duties
- Directs, coordinates, prepares, and supervises food preparation according to menu and dietary guidelines
- trains workers in safety and sanitation practices
- prepares religious and medically necessary diets and substitutions
- directs the portioning and serving of all meals
- oversees the distribution of bulk and pre-plated meals
- ensures adherence to health guidelines in food preparation
- manages and reviews inventory daily
- completes inventories of knives, controlled food items, and tools
- monitors and records food, refrigerator, and freezer temperatures
