Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, nutrition, food service administration, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience managing food service programs
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws applicable to food service operations
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Strong organizational and financial management skills
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
- Proficiency with computer applications essential to food service management
Job Qualifications
- Experience in managing food service operations, preferably in institutional or commercial settings
- Knowledge of management and organizational theory principles
- Familiarity with food safety, nutrition, and menu planning
- Strong leadership, supervision, and training skills
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local food service laws and regulations
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and software applications
- Effective communication and customer service skills
Job Duties
- Direct, plan, manage, supervise, and coordinate the activities of a county food service program or kitchen facility
- Coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies, and the general public
- Select, supervise, train, and evaluate food service staff
- Plan and review work assignments and resolve disciplinary issues
- Develop, monitor, and interpret food service budgets and related financial documents
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations related to food service operations
- Develop menus, including modifications for special diets, and oversee food procurement, storage, and preparation processes
