Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or approved equivalent
  • current Food Manager Certificate accepted by Texas Department of State Health Services
  • prior K-12 school food service supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to speak, read, write, and understand instructions in English
  • computer literate
  • ability to handle money efficiently and perform routine mathematical calculations
  • ability to effectively communicate with administrators, teachers, and parents
  • understanding of kitchen operations, equipment, and food safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or approved equivalent
  • current Food Manager Certificate accepted by Texas Department of State Health Services
  • K-12 school food service supervisory experience
  • ability to speak, read, write, and understand instructions in English
  • computer literate
  • effective communication skills with administrators, teachers, and parents
  • knowledge of kitchen operations, equipment, and food safety regulations

Job Duties

  • Supervises employees in food preparation, service, and storage operations
  • trains all assigned staff to maintain a safe environment
  • conducts annual department HACCP training
  • conducts new hire orientation
  • trains staff on new policies and procedures
  • orders food and supplies per schedules
  • receives, stores and handles food and supplies according to health standards
  • prepares and reviews daily work schedules
  • presents quality food attractively
  • ensures food items meet menu specifications
  • maintains accurate records and reports
  • meets serving schedules
  • implements food safety and sanitation programs
  • applies safety rules to reduce accidents
  • performs computer procedures accurately
  • understands and executes all policies and procedures
  • participates in campus activities to encourage involvement
  • demonstrates financial responsibility and accuracy in cash deposits
  • attends meetings and staff development
  • manages conflict resolution among staff
  • oversees kitchen clean-up and waste removal
  • performs other duties as assigned
