Job Requirements
- A standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved GED Testing Program
- a minimum of two years within the last five years of food service experience
- completion of the School Board of Broward County Food and Nutrition Services Department Organization and Management Intern Manager Training Program
- ability to follow directions and communicate in English
- effective communication skills with students, teachers, school administrators, and Food and Nutrition Services personnel
- general knowledge of quantity food service and nutrition
- computer skills as required for the position

Job Duties
- Supervise staff as assigned in the performance of job duties
- participate in ongoing state-approved training and educational initiatives relating to Food and Nutrition Services
- act as a liaison between school administrators, Food and Nutrition Services personnel, and district staff for all program operations
- ensure students receive nutritious meals and quality service in compliance with USDA and district policies
- supervise food production and service to meet nutritional, flavor, appearance, and federal and state requirements
- ensure compliance with federal and state School Food Service Program standards for food preparation, serving portion size, and sanitation
- adhere to Meal Count System procedures
- oversee recipe compliance and service
- monitor food production ensuring safe meal services and proper quantities
- follow purchasing procedures and maintain cost control through planning, inventory ordering, preparation, and service
- provide input regarding menu planning
- pre-plan meals and document food and supplies used
- verify leftovers and plan for utilization
- verify inventories of commodities, purchased food, and non-food items
- check-in all deliveries verifying quantity, quality, and price
- direct proper storage of food and non-food items following safety protocols
- conduct Capital Inventory verification as directed
- maintain accurate records as required by local, state, and national programs
- verify cash and complete deposit procedures
- oversee operations and staff including participation in employee hiring
- assist personnel in arranging Food and Nutrition Services duty during non-school activities
- ensure effective time management through daily written work schedules
