Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- two years of experience managing a food service operation including supervision, inventory distribution and control, cost management, food preparation, and sanitation
- or two years of experience at the lower level Food Svc Spec Spv or equivalent position
- active ServSafe Manager Certification
- ability to communicate effectively
- computer literacy
- ability to motivate and train staff
- knowledge of governing bodies' requirements
- readiness to undergo reference and criminal background checks

Job Duties
- Interview, hire, direct, train, evaluate, discipline, and discharge employees
- manage daily HR functions including Kronos and work schedules
- communicate departmental goals and plans to subordinates
- monitor staff adherence and provide feedback
- ensure staff maintain ServSafe certification
- plan, schedule, prioritize, and assign work to food service workers
- manage daily food service operations and liaise between facility and central office
- maintain Food Safety Management certification
- complete and review paperwork for governing agencies
- lead ACA preparation for food service standards
- prepare for compliance audits
- develop and implement corrective action plans
- project and submit yearly supply needs
- place weekly orders for raw and commodity foods
- review deliveries for quality control
- complete monthly reporting of meal counts and inventory
- manage maintenance and replacement of food service equipment
- conduct regular kitchen sanitation, safety, and compliance reviews
- provide ongoing education and training
- train food service supervisors on operational management
- demonstrate excellent communication
- maintain computer literacy
- ensure department compliance with governing bodies
