Job Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED
- Four years of work experience in food service
- Two years of supervisory or administrative experience
- Computer proficiency with MS Office applications
- Experience in food requirement calculations and record keeping
- Ability to lift at least 45 pounds
- Must possess a valid driver’s license as regulated by the institution
- Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Pass a fingerprint criminal background check, drug screen, and registry checks
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Males 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
- Willingness to comply with random drug testing
- Ability to adhere to safety and sanitary regulations
- Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to supervise staff and maintain discipline
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school or GED
- Four years of work experience in food service
- Two years of supervisory or administrative experience in food service
- Computer experience including MS Office, Excel, Word, E-mail, and internet usage
- Experience calculating food requirements, maintaining records and inventories, preparing budgets, requisitions, and reports
- Certification through the Dietary Managers Association as a Certified Food Professional or Texas Food Safety Managers Certification preferred
- Food Safety Manager Certification
Job Duties
- Monitor and comply with facility/departmental policies and procedures
- Provide planning, directing and supervision of the department
- Maintain daily records including vehicle mileage, plate waste, and dishwasher temperatures
- Investigate accidents that occur during working shift
- Monitor meal service for temperature, portion control, sanitation, quality, quantity, and dietary requirements
- Inspect serving kitchens and in-homes for sanitation, equipment use, and work area appearance
- Initiate work orders and ordering/inventory of supplies and equipment
- Conduct performance evaluations and meet with employees to discuss progress
- Ensure staff participate in mandatory training
- Implement and monitor safety programs within area of responsibility
- Participate in interviewing food service personnel
- Perform other duties as assigned including disaster response and COOP activation support
