Job Requirements
- high school diploma or approved equivalent
- current Food Manager Certificate accepted by Texas Department of State Health Services
- K-12 school food service supervisory experience
- ability to speak, read, write, and understand instructions in English
- ability to plan, coordinate, and produce work in allotted time
- computer literate
- ability to handle money efficiently and perform routine mathematical calculations
- ability to effectively communicate with administrators, teachers, and parents
- must understand kitchen operations, equipment, and food safety regulations

Job Duties
- Train all assigned staff to maintain a safe environment
- conduct annual department HACCP training for all assigned staff
- conduct new hire orientation per department policy
- train all assigned staff on new policies and procedures
- demonstrate positive interactions with students following district and department guidelines
- participate in and recommend department initiatives to improve service
- order food and supplies according to department schedules
- receive, store and handle food and supplies following health department requirements
- prepare and review daily work schedules for efficient operations
- present quality food attractively at all meal services
- ensure food items are served per menu specifications and department expectations
- prepare and maintain accurate daily and monthly records and reports for financials, production, and inventories
- meet serving schedules determined by campus administrators
- exhibit problem-solving skills
- implement food safety and sanitation programs mandated by regulatory agencies and department
- apply safety rules to reduce accidents
- perform computer procedures accurately
- understand and execute all department and district policies and procedures
- participate in campus activities to encourage student and parent involvement
- demonstrate financial responsibility with accurate daily cash deposits
- attend meetings and staff development as directed
- supervise employees in food preparation, service, and storage
- operate all kitchen equipment and train employees on safety and care
- handle personnel conflicts with counseling and coaching
- work with employees from diverse cultural backgrounds and skill levels
- direct all kitchen clean-up, trash and recycle removal
- perform job performance evaluations of assigned staff
- perform other duties as assigned
