Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED
  • At least two years of full-time paid employment in retail sales or food sales operation
  • Minimum one year experience in food preparation and sales in restaurants, food trucks, or coffee houses
  • Ability to obtain certified food handler certification within two months of hire
  • Ability to obtain certified food protection manager certification within two months of hire
  • Must maintain certifications according to Texas Department of State Health Services and Texas Food Establishment Rules
  • Ability to pass fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs safely
  • Preferred valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED
  • At least two years of full-time paid employment in a retail or food sales operation
  • Minimum one year of experience in food preparation and sales such as in a restaurant, food truck, or coffee house
  • Supervisory, managerial, or lead worker experience preferred
  • Certified food handler or ability to obtain certification within two months
  • Certified food protection manager or ability to obtain certification within two months
  • Knowledge of personnel management and food service training principles
  • Ability to perform arithmetical calculations accurately and swiftly
  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and professional interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises and monitors daily activities of assigned food service personnel to ensure smooth operations
  • Plans, assigns, and oversees food preparation and service of regular, therapeutic, and texture-modified diets for distribution to satellite areas
  • Ensures sanitation and safety procedures comply with federal, state, and HACCP regulations in all food service locations
  • Inspects incoming food and supplies to verify quality and quantity standards
  • Participates in training and instruction of food service personnel to maintain high performance standards
  • Completes work orders promptly and compiles data to address recurring operational issues
  • Collaborates with other food service managers to ensure continuity and quality of service and fills in as needed
  • Participates or supports agency disaster response, recovery, or COOP activation efforts as required
