Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in personnel management and supervision in food service
- Certified Food Handler or able to attain certification within two months of employment
- Certified Food Protection Manager or able to attain certification within two months of employment
- Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid Texas driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days preferred
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pass fingerprint criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Compliance with agency policies regarding abuse/neglect and exclusion lists
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime
- Eligible for random drug testing
- Males aged 18-25 must be registered with Selective Service
Job Qualifications
- Experience in personnel management and supervision in food service
- Experience in training food service employees
- Experience in food preparation, service and sanitation
- Knowledge of federal, state and HACCP sanitation regulations
- Ability to plan, organize and supervise institutional food service production
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds safely
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations accurately
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and under pressure
- Computer skills or willingness to learn
- Certified Food Handler or ability to obtain certification within two months
- Certified Food Protection Manager or ability to obtain certification within two months
Job Duties
- Supervise and monitor daily activities of assigned personnel assuring food service areas are running smoothly
- Supervise and inspect the sanitation of central kitchen and satellite areas to ensure federal, state and HACCP procedures are followed
- Complete work orders properly and promptly, compiling data on work orders to find solutions to recurring problems
- Participate in training and instruction of food service personnel
- Inspect food and supplies received to ensure quality and quantity
- Ensure compliance with all HHSC, AuSSLC work, training, and regulatory policies
- Actively participate and serve in a supporting role for disaster response and continuity of operations activation
