Spring Grove Hospital Center is the largest psychiatric hospital operated by the State of Maryland, housing 377 beds and located in Catonsville. Job Requirements
- Six years of experience supervising workers and activities in an institutional, commercial, or industrial food service operation
- possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience supervising workers and activities in institutional food service can substitute for experience
- military service as a commissioned officer in Food Services Officers, Culinary Specialist classifications, Food Services Manager, or Services Officer specialty codes can substitute on a year-for-year basis for required experience
- provide a telephone number where you can be reached for call-in
- ability to comply with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Job Qualifications
- Experience supervising workers and activities in institutional, commercial, or industrial food service operations
- knowledge of food safety procedures including HACCP
- certification or coursework in Nutrition, Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, or Hospitality Management
- strong leadership and communication skills
- ability to maintain compliance with health and safety regulations
- bachelor's degree preferred
Job Duties
- Manage daily food service operations including planning menus
- procure food and supplies in line with budget and quality standards
- prepare and serve meals adhering to health and sanitation regulations
- supervise Food Service Supervisors, Food Service Workers, and Food Service Assistants
- implement and maintain food safety procedures such as HACCP
- monitor compliance with institutional food service standards
- coordinate training and development for food service staff
