Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts, food management or a similar field
  • One year of supervisory experience including supervising inmates
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to push and pull 25 pounds of force
  • Completion of departmental case management certification if designated
  • Physical examination upon offer as required
  • Compliance with safety sensitive position criteria if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts, food management, or a related field
  • One year supervisory experience in commercial or institutional food service
  • Experience supervising inmates
  • Knowledge of food service operations and modified diets
  • Ability to interpret special dietary menus
  • Strong organizational and supervisory skills
  • Effective communication and relationship-building abilities

Job Duties

  • Plan, coordinate, or direct purchasing and food preparation
  • Maintain sanitary standards in preparation, kitchen, serving, and dining areas
  • Prepare work schedules for employees and patients
  • Review and modify menus and interpret recipes and diet plans
  • Conduct staff meetings and attend conferences
  • Maintain records and prepare reports
  • Analyze food costs and assist with budgets
