Job Requirements
- High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate required
- ServSafe certification required
- Associate degree from an accredited institution with a major in Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, Foods and Nutrition, Dietetics or related fields or supervision experience in a school food or fast-food retail setting preferred
- Must have demonstrated the ability to work and communicate with others in a leadership capacity
- Must have knowledge of food preparation and kitchen safety
- Ability to plan, organize, assign, supervise, evaluate and inspect the work of others
- Ability to use good judgment and make sound decisions
- Be enthusiastic and have a pleasing personality

Job Duties
- Plan, supervise and direct the operation of food service programs at assigned location in accordance with USDA and Michigan Department of Education guidelines and requirements
- Ensure that safe food handling techniques and methods are maintained during all food preparation and service
- Inform principals and supervisors of activities, progress and concerns related to the food service operation
- Create and maintain good employee morale and relationships
- Establish an atmosphere in which students will be encouraged to eat
- Maintain an efficient operation and assure compliance with policies and procedures
- Plan and conduct regular staff meetings
