Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous relevant experience preferred
  • Essential physical and mental capabilities including interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, and comprehension
  • Ability to lift and push or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to attend safety and related meetings
  • Ability to manage inventory control and security
  • Willingness to attend classes in cleaning methods, First Aid, CPR, and product knowledge
  • Understanding and compliance with USDA and State child nutrition regulations
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and correspondence
  • Proficient communication skills in English and preferably Spanish
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
  • Ability to solve practical problems and follow detailed instructions
  • Experience with personal and mainframe computers
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of USDA child nutrition program and State of Idaho requirements
  • Ability to maintain safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Calculates recipe quantities to assure adequate meals without waste
  • Cleans utensils, equipment, and food preparation areas to maintain safe and sanitary conditions
  • Directs assigned personnel, student workers, and volunteers
  • Inspects food items and supplies to verify quantity and health standards
  • Maintains food and supplies inventory
  • Maintains food service equipment
  • Orders food and supplies
  • Prepares documentation such as employee time cards and safety regulations
  • Prepares food and beverage items to meet nutritional requirements
  • Responds to inquiries about meal types and costs
  • Stocks food, condiments, and supplies
  • Trains employees and evaluates job performance
