Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in kitchen or food service operations
  • ability to work full-time hours including weekends
  • reliable and trustworthy with a strong work ethic
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • willing to support and share the Gospel as part of employment
  • physical ability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • commitment to mission, vision, statement of faith, and core values of Wheeler Mission Ministries
  • prior experience in food service or kitchen management preferred
  • ability to manage a team including volunteers and program participants
  • knowledge of food safety and health regulations
  • strong organizational and leadership skills
  • capacity to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Oversee all operational aspects of kitchen management
  • manage inventory control and menu planning
  • maintain board of health required forms and food safety practices
  • perform regular cleaning and maintenance checks of kitchen equipment
  • supervise food service workers including associates, volunteers, site staff, and program guests
  • serve nutritious meals to 100 to 350 guests daily
  • maintain a safe and clean environment consistent with ministry values
