Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • considerable experience in institutional food service involving preparation and planning of menus and large scale cooking
  • ability to supervise employees
  • state or federal certification desired but not required
  • must agree to background check, fingerprinting, and pay $46.20 fee
  • willingness to comply with safety and hygiene regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • combination of training, education, and experience providing required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • considerable experience in institutional or other food service organization involving large scale cooking and menu planning
  • considerable knowledge of materials and methods used in large scale cooking
  • ability to supervise other employees
  • state or federal certification is desired but not required
  • such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable

Job Duties

  • Plan, manage, and direct the Child Nutrition Program for assigned school
  • plan menus
  • supervise staff
  • train employees
  • order supplies
  • maintain inventory
  • manage funds
  • comply with safety and hygiene regulations
