Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent experience
  • one year of similar or related experience
  • sanitation (food safety) courses encouraged
  • must be able to perform medium work involving lifting up to 50 pounds
  • visual acuity including depth perception and color vision
  • physical abilities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • excellent hospitality skills
  • problem-solving abilities

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
  • smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
  • makes an effort to learn customers' names
  • assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out of reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, and taking customer suggestions
  • answers telephone and takes product orders
  • works with co-workers as a team
  • reviews daily production list and assigns tasks
  • ensures product rotation and replenishment
  • scans kitchen area and assigns tasks
  • ensures adequate staffing
  • oversees food quality and presentation
  • manages inventory
  • plans menus with chefs
  • handles provisioning and purchasing
  • estimates food and beverage costs
  • supervises portion control
  • performs quality checks
  • sets department standards for service, cleanliness, and profitability
  • analyzes sales and writes ads
  • plans marketing and special functions
  • monitors health and safety regulations
  • investigates food quality complaints
  • arranges equipment maintenance
  • selects and prices menu items
  • directs hiring, training and scheduling
  • enforces sanitary practices
  • follows food safety guidelines
