The Food Service Leader role at EG America is designed for energetic, outgoing individuals who are enthusiastic about helping others and thrive in a fast-paced food operation setting. The Food Service Leader is responsible for overseeing food preparation, safety, presentation, and service, ensuring guests receive timely, high-quality food and beverage items like pizza, breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and more.

In this role, the Food Service Leader will guide team members in following proper food safety protocols, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering an exceptional guest shopping experience. The role requires keen attention to food stock management, cost control, waste reduction, and vendor relationships to ensure all food products meet company standards. Team leadership skills are essential, as this position includes providing training, coaching, and feedback to help fellow employees improve their food handling and customer service skills.

The Food Service Leader will act as a liaison between the store team, management, and third-party vendors, maintaining proper food safety measures, monitoring proper temperatures and holding times, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping for compliance. Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask and adapt quickly to different activities are key components for success in this role.

Physical demands include lifting and moving varying weights, standing and walking for extended periods, and working in cooler temperatures. The position offers specialized work attire such as hats, visors, and gloves provided by the company to maintain hygiene and safety standards.

This position caters to candidates with a minimum of high school education or GED and some experience in retail, food service, or restaurant environments. Being Serv Safe certified is a plus but not mandatory. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months retail or food experience
  • Preferred 1 year in retail, service or restaurant environment
  • Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members
  • High energy
  • Ability to move from one activity to another quickly
  • Team oriented, willing to give extra effort to help others
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds, standing and walking for 8 hours
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow food safety protocols

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests in a friendly manner to make them feel welcomed and appreciated
  • Manage food stock levels, food costs and waste, preparation, presentation, and food safety requirements for hot and cold prepared food and beverage items
  • Oversee the food service area’s cleanliness, sanitation and maintenance of equipment adhering to standard food safety protocols
  • Meet company goals for food sales such as pizza, breakfast sandwiches, coffee etc.
  • Provide training, feedback, coaching and direction to fellow team members on food preparation and food safety requirements
  • Maintain relationship with third party vendors on food safety measures, monitoring and training on proper temperatures, holding times and waste processes with recordkeeping
  • Maintain proper stock levels and proper rotation of all food products for sandwich case, sandwich warmers, pizza, chili, condiments and pastry cases
  • Process guest transactions in an efficient and friendly manner to minimize guest wait time
  • Perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of the Store Manager or Guest Service Leader
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations
