Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution
- current Food Manager Certificate accepted by the Texas Department of State Health Services
- speaks, reads, writes, and understands instructions in English
- ability to plan, coordinate, and produce work in allotted time
- computer literate
- ability to handle money efficiently and perform routine mathematical calculations
- ability to communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and parents
- two years of food service experience preferred

Job Duties
- Oversee daily food preparation, service of meals, and clean-up of kitchen and serving areas
- uphold program standards and provide positive leadership at assigned location and during substitutions
- complete necessary paperwork required by federal, state, local, and district entities
- cooperate with Manager to lead kitchen personnel in planned promotions
- assure safety and sanitation policies and procedures are followed
- open and close kitchen as needed
- supervise Food and Nutrition Services personnel and enforce department policies and procedures
- work with vendors and district warehouses to order, receive, and store products
- assist Manager in taking monthly inventory
- verify, count, and prepare daily deposits
- perform Cafeteria Manager duties during absences
- place work orders for maintenance
- lead kitchen personnel in healthy interactions with parents, staff, students, and community
- provide excellent customer service
- attend meetings and staff development
- conduct training with Food Service Specialists
- supervise specialists regarding daily preparation, service, and clean-up
- consult with Manager about employee evaluations and personnel issues
- perform other assigned duties
