Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant food service experience
- Valid ServSafe Food Handler certification within one year
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Capacity to work independently and manage staff
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary requirements
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and friendly demeanor
- Good organizational skills and time management
- Ability to coordinate with nursing staff
- Physical ability to perform food service duties
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in food preparation, service techniques, cashiering, and sanitation
- Strong knowledge of hospital or restaurant food service environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with nursing personnel
- Ability to read and understand communications
- Self-directed and able to work independently
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with email and internet applications
- Knowledge of food and drug interactions and allergens
- ServSafe Food Handler certification within 1 year
Job Duties
- Maintain work assignments and staff schedules
- Provide day-to-day work direction to staff
- Ensure high quality food service for patients, retail, and catering events
- Assist department leadership with patient satisfaction, loyalty scores, and sanitation
- Perform specialty assignments and projects as assigned
- Train, orient, and guide employees and students
- Monitor productivity and staffing levels
- Resolve employee concerns and assist with human resource functions
- Monitor department operations and adjust schedules as needed
- Provide guidance on complex issues and workflow problems
- Forecast food requirements and maintain meal census records
- Manage purchasing and cafeteria requests
- Inspect equipment and work areas for maintenance and sanitation
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
- Handle cashiering and balance sheets as necessary
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints
- Ensure food/drug interaction and allergen knowledge is applied appropriately
- Maintain a friendly, professional, and cheerful demeanor reflecting healing culture
- Use computer applications for communication and record keeping
