Job Requirements

  • associate's degree or certification in a related field and one year of full-time experience as a cook in a large scale food service operation
  • or high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and three years of full-time experience as a cook in a large scale food service operation
  • willingness to work first shift
  • ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • capability to train and coordinate food service staff
  • strong communication skills
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma and at least three years of full-time experience as a cook in a large scale food service operation
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • experience in menu and recipe development
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to train and mentor staff
  • attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook food for all food service spaces including patient feeding catering and retail operations in a safe and sanitary manner
  • assist culinary supervisor and department manager with coordinating the activities of cooks and food service workers
  • assist with retail menu development recipe development and catered function planning
  • coach and train food service cooks
  • maintain compliance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies
  • ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
