Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two years of culinary training and institutional cooking experience
- Ability to lift and move pans and cases weighing up to 55 pounds
- Maintains ServSafe Certification
- Ability to organize work efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with computer use
- Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and community members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years in culinary training and institutional cooking experience
- Experience as a food production manager preferred
- Ability to lift and move pans and cases weighing up to 55 pounds
- Maintains ServSafe Certification
- Ability to organize the day’s work in a time saving manner
- Ability to work and communicate well with people
- Ability to use a computer
- Ability to relate appropriately to students, staff and community members
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the NSLP guidelines
- Direct preparation of all food items for school breakfast, lunch, and special events and organize work in a time saving manner
- Use the computer for production, food inventory, maintaining records, and placing orders
- Estimate food preparation amounts and adjust recipes
- Store and record leftover food and maintain production records
- Provide on the job training to food service staff
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and report malfunctions
