Job Description

The Jr Sous Chef at SSA Group plays a pivotal role in supporting the Sous Chef to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations across multiple locations. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, service, and team performance. Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in culinary
  • knowledge of food safety and quality standards
  • experience with team supervision and training
  • ability to maintain and inspect kitchen equipment
  • familiarity with applicable local, state, and federal laws
  • experience in guest service and complaint resolution
  • strong organizational and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • live out 452 Hospitality by delivering warm, welcoming and memorable experiences
  • ensure restaurant/location is adequately prepped and staffed for daily operation
  • oversee kitchen duties ensuring food service, safety, quality, availability and guest standards are met
  • monitor safety logs including food temperatures and waste
  • enforce proper uniform and hygiene standards
  • support safety training including knife handling skills
  • create daily prep and item lists and delegate tasks
  • actively support operations and fill in as necessary
  • maintain checklist of cleaning tasks and ongoing projects
  • assist Sous Chef in assigning tasks and coaching associates
  • respond efficiently to guest and client feedback
  • oversee personnel duties including training, performance management, attendance tracking and break management
  • inspect equipment and perform routine maintenance
  • communicate with Sous Chef and Operations Manager on service or quality issues
  • work with restaurant supervisors to ensure standards
  • comply with all local, state and federal laws
  • perform other tasks as necessary
  • maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
  • uphold company policies and procedures
