Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Food Service Manager certificate from the State of Florida
- Minimum of two years of institutional food service experience
- At least one year of supervisory experience
- Successful completion of background and drug screening
- Ability to pass criminal background checks including sex offender check
- Valid driver’s license if required
- Ability to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act accommodations
- Willingness to work in a secure juvenile justice environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of institutional food service experience
- Current Food Service Manager certificate from the State of Florida
- At least one year of supervisory experience
- Experience working in an institution or jail setting
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and nutritional standards
- Ability to plan menus and manage food service operations effectively
Job Duties
- Plan menus and food utilization based on anticipated number of guests nutritional value palatability popularity and costs
- Organize and direct worker training programs resolve personnel problems hire new staff and evaluate employee performance
- Coordinate assignments of cooking personnel to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation
- Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation serving and building maintenance
- Monitor food preparation methods size of portions garnishing and presentation to ensure proper standards
- Monitor budget payroll records and review financial transactions to ensure expenditures are authorized and budgeted
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality service or accommodations
- Review menus and analyze recipes to determine labor and overhead costs and assign prices to menu items
- Establish and enforce nutrition standards for the dining establishment
- Keep records required by government agencies regarding sanitation and food subsidies
- Test cooked food for palatability and flavor conformity
- Create specialty dishes and develop recipes for the dining facility
