Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field
  • Minimum 3 years experience in food service management

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food service management roles
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety and health regulations
  • Experience working with labor unions and contract compliance
  • Strong leadership and staff development skills
  • Proficiency with menu planning software and computerized record-keeping
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Job Duties

  • Plan, develop, and direct the culinary and nutritional services department
  • Supervise and assist in meal preparation ensuring meals are appetizing and meet planned menus
  • Maintain adequate stock levels through effective purchasing and inventory management
  • Coordinate services and activities with other departments such as nursing, maintenance, and housekeeping
  • Respond to and manage complaints and grievances from residents and staff
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance programs and maintain sanitary conditions in culinary work areas
  • Manage departmental budget and maintain operations within approved financial limits
