Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
- Culinary experience in institutional setting
- Availability for evening shift
- Ability to monitor and assure asset security
- Knowledge of HACCP food safety standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with department management
- Capacity to assist with staff hiring, training, and scheduling
- Capability to lead quality assurance activities
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and education
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
- Culinary experience acquired through culinary school or years of experience in institutional setting
- Previous job-related experience of 1-2 years required
- Preferred 3-5 years of job-related experience
- Administrative or technical background from 2-3 years of college preferred
Job Duties
- Monitor compliance of Food and Nutrition staff to operational standards
- Monitor and assure security of assets such as safe monies, two-way radios, computers, food product, equipment, keys
- Monitor compliance to food handling and storage guidelines to assure food safety
- Assess operations and initiate corrective actions per HACCP
- Complete and file required reports
- Communicate with department management regarding operational issues
- Assume responsibility for daily opening and closing of operations
- Assist manager in staff interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, and discipline
- Assist with employee competency development and evaluation
- Lead inservices prior to meal periods
- Document quality indicators and take corrective action
- Monitor safety standards
- Document accident and safety incidents of visitors and staff
- Plan, monitor, and conduct employee training
- Participate in job-related training and in-service education
- Perform other duties as assigned to facilitate Food and Nutrition Department operations
