Job Duties
- assist cook/manager in preparing and cooking entrees and main dishes
- prepare salads and other foods
- season, mix, chop, slice, and assemble foods and food ingredients
- operate a cash register
- fill out daily work sheets and sell and collect lunch tickets
- keep records and reports
- set up and operate dishwashers, stoves, ovens, mixers, and other kitchen equipment
- wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans, trays, serving compartments, and other serving equipment
- assist on serving lines set out prepared foods, dispense foods in proper proportions, keep food or tray counts
- store foods, rotate stock in storage areas
- assist in the receipt of food orders, assist with inventories
- restock condiments, food items, and paper goods before, during, and between servings
- observe safe and sanitary procedures and practices
- assign and direct other workers
- may supervise and be responsible for the cafeteria operation in the absence of the cook/manager
- supervise students in cafetorium
