Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience in a healthcare or institutional setting preferred
- knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks
- basic math skills for measuring and portioning
- ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes
- willingness to participate in emergency drills and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation and cooking in a healthcare or similar setting
- knowledge of dietary requirements including therapeutic diets
- ability to follow standardized recipes and portion control
- understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- strong organizational skills for inventory management
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- good communication skills
Job Duties
- Prepares meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure quality with minimum waste
- reviews food menus and work orders to determine the type and quantities of food to be prepared and to identify all foods required for therapeutic diets before preparation
- preps, measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes
- assists driver with preparation of meals and loading and unloading of items for delivery
- portions and arrange food and distribute to waitstaff to be served
- follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
- labels and dates all food items in accordance with food storage chart
- receives, checks-in, dates and stocks deliveries in appropriate areas
- ensure food products are cooked and served in compliance with State of Louisiana Department of Health sanitation standards
- performs the necessary duties for emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook
- interacts with residents/clients and co-workers with patience, understanding and kindness in accordance with the CommCare Corporation mission and core values
