Job Requirements

- must be willing to float between cafe locations
- ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50lbs
- ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach frequently during shift
- ability to walk or stand for 8 hours on hard surfaces
- ability to tolerate hot and cold temperatures
- 3 to 5 years professional cooking experience
- 1 to 2 years kitchen management experience
- good verbal communication skills
- basic math skills
- ability to work well in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years professional cooking experience in a high-volume food establishment
- 1 to 2 years kitchen management experience
- professional work experience in foodservice or hospitality
- currently enrolled in or graduate of culinary, hospitality, foodservice or related field preferred
- effective verbal communication skills
- ability to train, develop and mentor new hires
- strong proficiency in department operations
- ability to support multiple kitchen stations
- knowledge of food safety risks and best practices
- strong time management and organizational skills
- ability to work effectively as part of a team and exhibit leadership qualities
- ability to read, comprehend and execute kitchen recipes
- basic math and measurement understanding
Job Duties
- Inventory control and managing food pars
- ensure storage areas are organized, clean, and goods properly rotated
- interact with suppliers and place orders when required
- prepare menu items for the week ahead
- pull foods from freezer, label and date items properly
- perform food preparation including washing, cutting, and cooking for breakfast and lunch service
- work individually and as part of the team to prioritize tasks and execute recipes and prep lists
- operate food action stations and prepare food according to guest orders
- provide guest relations and customer service, restock and clean buffet lines and service areas during service
- operate point of sale system, handle currency, balance cash drawers, and prepare daily sales reports
- receive, handle, and rotate inventory using FIFO standards
- perform equipment care and routine cleaning duties
- support and mentor team members
- perform other duties as assigned
