Job Requirements

  • must have a resume attached to application
  • must be willing to float between cafe locations
  • ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50lbs
  • ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach frequently during shift
  • ability to walk or stand for 8 hours on hard surfaces
  • ability to tolerate hot and cold temperatures
  • 3 to 5 years professional cooking experience
  • 1 to 2 years kitchen management experience
  • good verbal communication skills
  • basic math skills
  • ability to work well in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years professional cooking experience in a high-volume food establishment
  • 1 to 2 years kitchen management experience
  • professional work experience in foodservice or hospitality
  • currently enrolled in or graduate of culinary, hospitality, foodservice or related field preferred
  • effective verbal communication skills
  • ability to train, develop and mentor new hires
  • strong proficiency in department operations
  • ability to support multiple kitchen stations
  • knowledge of food safety risks and best practices
  • strong time management and organizational skills
  • ability to work effectively as part of a team and exhibit leadership qualities
  • ability to read, comprehend and execute kitchen recipes
  • basic math and measurement understanding

Job Duties

  • Inventory control and managing food pars
  • ensure storage areas are organized, clean, and goods properly rotated
  • interact with suppliers and place orders when required
  • prepare menu items for the week ahead
  • pull foods from freezer, label and date items properly
  • perform food preparation including washing, cutting, and cooking for breakfast and lunch service
  • work individually and as part of the team to prioritize tasks and execute recipes and prep lists
  • operate food action stations and prepare food according to guest orders
  • provide guest relations and customer service, restock and clean buffet lines and service areas during service
  • operate point of sale system, handle currency, balance cash drawers, and prepare daily sales reports
  • receive, handle, and rotate inventory using FIFO standards
  • perform equipment care and routine cleaning duties
  • support and mentor team members
  • perform other duties as assigned
