Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Previous experience in driving, operating, cleaning, and executing orders on a food truck
  • Valid drivers’ license Class E
  • Clean driving record
  • Must submit to and pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Children and Families
  • SERV Safe Manager Food Safety Certification required or must obtain SERV Safe Certification within the first three (3) months of employment
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and stand for long periods of time
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at once
  • Follow policies, procedures, and rules of the organization

Job Duties

  • Drive 35 ft. food truck/trailer to various sites/events as scheduled
  • Responsible for hooking up and breaking down food trailer
  • Prepare or direct preparation of food served using established production procedures and systems
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
  • Observe proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • Store food properly and safely, marking date and item
  • Report necessary equipment repair and maintenance to immediate supervisor
  • Correctly prepare all food served following standard recipes planned for the day and or specialized event
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that meals are served according to posted schedules and so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved
  • Apportion food for serving
  • Keep work area neat and clean at all times
  • Clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation
  • Follow general and weekly cleaning checklists as posted
  • Conduct nutrition education projects and mentor workforce teens
  • Never leave workforce teens unattended
  • Ensure security of the kitchen at the end of each workday
  • Portion and wrap food or prepare for service to customers
  • Clean service station, cooking equipment, and food truck kitchen areas
  • Prepare/cook a variety of foods according to customers' orders or supervisor’s instructions, follow approved procedures
  • Follow all HACCP rules and regulations
  • Wash, peel and cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving
  • Stock serving areas and refrigerators
  • Set up and breakdown food prep and service stations
  • Keep records of temperatures and amounts of foods used
  • Cover, label and date all leftover foods for storage
  • Actively participate in mandatory Boys & Girls Club trainings and All Staff meetings
  • Occasionally may be required to work special events promoted by the organization during evenings and/or weekends
  • Complete any additional assignments as requested by supervisor
