Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in food preparation or cooking
- knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
- food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- good communication skills
- physical fitness to meet job demands
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
- understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare food items in accordance with established production guidelines and standardized recipes
- organize work area with necessary equipment and ingredients
- measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items as part of ingredient preparation
- safely handle a variety of utensils including knives
- operate kitchen machinery such as ovens, cooking appliances, slicers, and mixers
- adopt various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- establish, embellish, and size portions of food according to guidelines
- adhere to food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- sterilize and clean workspaces, equipment, and tools
- provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor
- ensure compliance with safety policies especially regarding food safety and sanitation
- preserve security of company possessions
