Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in food preparation or cooking
  • knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
  • food safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • good communication skills
  • physical fitness to meet job demands

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical ability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food items in accordance with established production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • organize work area with necessary equipment and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items as part of ingredient preparation
  • safely handle a variety of utensils including knives
  • operate kitchen machinery such as ovens, cooking appliances, slicers, and mixers
  • adopt various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • establish, embellish, and size portions of food according to guidelines
  • adhere to food safety protocols and sanitation procedures
  • sterilize and clean workspaces, equipment, and tools
  • provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor
  • ensure compliance with safety policies especially regarding food safety and sanitation
  • preserve security of company possessions
