Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- two to three years previous quantity food preparation experience
- ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide in relation to forecasting and recipe adjustment
- successful completion of the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Course
- successful completion of the EVSC Cook's Training class
- member of the School Nutrition Association is highly desirable

- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents and school staff
- ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide accurately
- ability to perform these operations using units of money, weight and volume measurement
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but basic written or oral instructions
- ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Job Duties
- Prepares and maintains quality, nutritious food
- forecasts amounts of food needed and keeps serving line supplied in a timely manner
- proactively reacts to changes in food production needs
- practices safe food handling
- uses preparation equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- cleans and maintains preparation equipment
- understands basic meal planning principles
- maintains accurate food production records
- receives food and supply orders according to approved guidelines
- participates in good inventory control
- aids manager in the ordering of food and supplies
- assists in the training of serving and food preparation food service assistants
- maintains regular attendance
