Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking or food preparation experience
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to obtain or maintain food safety certification
  • good communication skills
  • physically able to perform job duties

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations including handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • good interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended standing and walking

Job Duties

  • cook and prepare food items following production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • organize work area with necessary equipment and ingredients
  • measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and peel food items
  • handle utensils safely including knives
  • operate ovens, cooking appliances, slicing tools, and mixers
  • apply various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • portion and garnish food according to specifications
  • adhere to food safety protocols for storage
  • clean and sterilize workspaces and equipment
  • provide excellent customer service and maintain positive interactions
  • follow company safety policies and food sanitation measures
  • protect company property
