Job Requirements

  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Willingness to comply with all health and safety standards
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Capability to lift and carry weights between 1-50 pounds
  • Ability to work variable shifts including first shift

Job Qualifications

  • Deschutes County Food Handlers Card
  • ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
  • Previous experience in food handling environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse populations professionally
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong team working and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environments
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills including electronic mail and MS Office

Job Duties

  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment/utensils, pots, and/or pans using commercial dishwashers or by hand
  • Restock all clean dishes and equipment once sanitized
  • Retrieve used food trays and carts from patient care areas as scheduled
  • Complete all assigned opening/closing procedures and checklists
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition
  • Perform routine cleaning of kitchen floors, mats, walls, cooking equipment, carts, ceilings, and other food service equipment
  • Use chemicals to clean and sanitize kitchen facility including deep cleaning of equipment, floor mats, dishwashing machines, floors, carts, refrigerators, and counters
  • Clean garbage cans with water or steam
  • Sort and remove waste and recycling to designated pickup areas
  • Sweep and scrub floors
  • Provide support to other food services areas as directed including delivery of food to patients
  • Support vision, mission, and values of the organization
  • Participate in continuous improvement (VIP-Lean) principles
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests
  • Deliver customer service and patient care promoting goodwill
  • Perform additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned
