Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook all menu items assigned to the broiler station following Duck Stop's recipes, portion sizes, and cooking standards
  • operate broilers, grills, or flat tops safely and efficiently to ensure consistent food quality
  • monitor and maintain proper cooking times and internal temperatures for all meats and proteins
  • prepare multiple sandwiches or grilled items simultaneously while maintaining order accuracy and presentation
  • ensure buns, toppings, and condiments are assembled according to menu specifications
  • maintain product rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) to ensure freshness and reduce waste
  • follow all Duck Stop safety and sanitation procedures including frequent handwashing and uniform compliance
  • maintain safe food temperatures for both cooked and raw ingredients
  • prevent cross-contamination by using separate utensils, cutting boards, and prep areas when handling raw and cooked foods
  • ensure the broiler, grill, and related equipment are cleaned and sanitized regularly throughout and after each shift
  • keep the station neat, clean, and organized (NCO) at all times
  • restock condiments, buns, proteins, and utensils throughout the shift
  • label, date, and store all prepped items properly
  • move with urgency while maintaining accuracy and safety
  • assist team members at neighboring stations when needed
  • communicate clearly with other kitchen team members and expediters using the "echo system" to ensure order accuracy and timing
  • support other cooks and stations during high-volume periods to maintain kitchen flow
  • coordinate with the front-of-house team to ensure fast and accurate service
  • report any equipment issues or low inventory items to management immediately
  • take pride in every plate or sandwich that leaves the station ensuring presentation, flavor, and temperature meet quality promise
  • contribute to the overall guest experience by helping maintain a clean, professional kitchen environment
  • support fast, friendly service by delivering consistently great food every time
