Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Meets all legally mandated health requirements
- Good moral character with no criminal or unethical convictions or rehabilitation satisfactory to the Board of Education
- Ability to provide efficient food production skills and follow approved sanitation procedures compliant with local and state health boards
- Meets all prerequisites to be bonded
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints
- Ability to lift and move work-related materials up to thirty pounds
- Willingness to perform physical duties including standing, bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching
- Ability to follow OSHA safety standards and HACCP protocols
- Ability to attend required in-service trainings and apply learned information
- Ability to operate food service machinery safely
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Good moral character
- Ability to provide efficient food production skills and approved sanitation procedures
- Knowledge of Federal Meal Program and student tray requirements for reimbursable meals
- Understanding of Offer vs. Serve method
- Ability to operate food equipment such as ovens, steamers, grills, dishwashers, and slicers
- Ability to drive food van and perform deliveries for newer hires
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged information
Job Duties
- Prepares and serves meals
- Maintains a sanitary and orderly kitchen
- Provides assistance for food service operations in the school district
- Performs work in cooperation with all food services employees to maintain efficiency and sanitation for the entire cafeteria/food service operation
- Operates the Point of Sale computer terminal for food and beverage sales
- Helps manage quality control ensuring lunches meet USDA child nutrition guidelines
- Assists with ordering foods and supplies and performs monthly inventory
