Job Requirements

  • Deschutes County Food Handlers Card required
  • Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Ability to stand and walk for 75% or more of shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 1-10 pounds continually
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 11-25 pounds frequently
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 25-50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to use clear and audible speaking voice and hear normal speech
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Must comply with all policies and regulations
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation standards
  • Must perform assigned opening and closing duties
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Valid OLCC Alcohol Service Permit preferred
  • ServSafe Manager Certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service, barista, and customer service in fast-paced, high service oriented environment preferred
  • Knowledge of customer service and cash handling preferred
  • Ability to operate espresso machine and prepare specialty coffee drinks
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with diverse populations
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Strong team working and collaboration skills
  • Basic to intermediate experience with computer applications, electronic email, and MS Office preferred
  • Cash handling skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Bartending experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepares food products and beverages in accordance with safe food handling guidelines
  • Ensures customer requests are met for special request items
  • Operates espresso machine when assigned
  • Prepares various hot beverages in accordance with customer requests
  • Provides excellent customer service at all times
  • Acts as a knowledgeable resource to customers on food choices and makes recommendations
  • Stocks and maintains tidiness and cleanliness of assigned areas in café or deli
  • Performs light cooking at the grill, sandwich/salad bars or other kitchen areas
  • Assists caterer to execute high-end catered events working as server, bartender and/or dishwasher
  • Participates in the assembly of patient trays to meet patient requests and diet orders
  • Delivers trays to patient rooms timely, verifying correctness and safety precautions
  • Follows all isolation precautions during delivery
  • Maintains knowledge of therapeutic diets and menu items
  • Stocks food supply areas on assigned patient floors
  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment using commercial dishwashers or by hand
  • Restocks all clean dishes and equipment
  • Retrieves used food trays and carts as scheduled
  • Completes opening/closing procedures and checklists
  • Maintains kitchen work areas and equipment in compliance with sanitation standards
  • Cleans and sanitizes surfaces and equipment
  • Stores and handles food properly following HACCP guidelines
  • Provides support to other areas of food services as directed
  • Supports vision, mission, and values of the organization
  • Participates in continuous improvement practices
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients, and guests
  • Conducts all activities with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Delivers customer service and/or patient care promoting goodwill, timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy
  • Performs additional duties of similar complexity as required or assigned
