Job Requirements
- Deschutes County Food Handlers Card required
- OLCC Alcohol Service Permit preferred
- ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
- ability to wear personal protective equipment
- ability to stand and walk for majority of shift
- ability to lift/carry/push/pull 1-50 pounds depending on task
- ability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
- ability to maintain high standards of professionalism and confidentiality
- must comply with all safety, health, and sanitation guidelines
- willingness to support continuous improvement programs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous food service experience preferred
- prior barista experience preferred
- solid customer service skills
- experience with cash handling preferred
- ability to operate espresso machines and prepare specialty coffee drinks
- ability to follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- ability to multi-task and work independently in fast-paced environment
- proficiency in basic computer applications including email and MS Office
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Prepares food products and beverages in accordance with safe food handling guidelines
- operates espresso machine when assigned
- provides excellent customer service at all times
- stocks and maintains tidiness and cleanliness of assigned areas in café or deli
- performs light cooking at grill, sandwich/salad bars or other kitchen areas
- assists caterer in high-end catered events as server, bartender or dishwasher
- assembles and delivers patient trays, verifying accuracy using Double Patient Identifier process
- follows isolation and safety precautions in food delivery
- maintains knowledge of therapeutic diets and menu items
- stocks food supply areas on patient floors
- washes dishes, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment, utensils, pots, and pans
- completes opening and closing procedures and checklists
- maintains clean work areas, floors, walls, and equipment in compliance with health and sanitation standards
- uses chemicals to clean and sanitize kitchen facility
- sorts and removes trash
- supports other food services areas as needed
- adheres to organization’s mission and values
- promotes continuous improvement
- ensures safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests
- complies with all applicable laws, policies and procedures
- may perform additional similar duties as assigned
