Job Requirements

  • Deschutes County Food Handlers Card required
  • OLCC Alcohol Service Permit preferred
  • ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
  • must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry various weights up to 50 pounds
  • good physical stamina to perform cleaning and service tasks
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to follow detailed instructions
  • capability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous food service experience preferred
  • experience in barista duties and customer service in fast-paced environment preferred
  • cash handling experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to operate espresso machine and prepare specialty coffee drinks
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • basic to intermediate computer skills
  • ability to work independently and multitask effectively
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • commitment to professional and ethical standards

Job Duties

  • Prepares food products and beverages in accordance with safe food handling guidelines
  • operates espresso machine when assigned
  • provides excellent customer service at all times
  • stocks and maintains cleanliness of café and deli areas
  • performs light cooking at grill or sandwich/salad bars
  • assists catering events as server, bartender, or dishwasher
  • assembles and delivers patient meal trays following diet orders and safety precautions
  • maintains knowledge of therapeutic diets and menu items
  • stocks food supply areas on patient floors
  • washes and restocks dishes, utensils, and equipment
  • maintains kitchen and work areas in compliance with sanitation standards
  • cleans and sanitizes surfaces and equipment
  • sorts and removes trash
  • supports other food services areas as directed
  • follows all safety and ethical procedures in food handling and service
