Job Requirements

  • Must have Deschutes County Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous food service or barista experience preferred
  • Experience in customer service in fast-paced, high-service environments preferred
  • Previous cash handling experience preferred
  • Possession of Deschutes County Food Handlers Card required
  • OLCC Alcohol Service Permit preferred
  • ServSafe Manager Certification preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Basic to intermediate computer application skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares food products and beverages according to safe food handling guidelines
  • Operates espresso machine and prepares hot beverages
  • Provides excellent customer service and makes recommendations accommodating preferences
  • Stocks and maintains cleanliness of café or deli areas
  • Performs light cooking at grill, sandwich, or salad bars
  • Assists catering events as server, bartender, or dishwasher
  • Assembles and delivers patient trays, verifying accuracy and safety
  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes, equipment, and work areas
  • Stocks food supplies and removes trash
  • Performs opening and closing duties and maintains kitchen sanitation
  • Supports other food service areas as needed
