Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, patients, and guests
  • coursework in food service management
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in food service
  • ServSafe certification required or required to have signed up in the first 30 days of employment
  • high school graduate or G.E.D

Job Duties

  • Participates in employee selection
  • orients, trains, participates in the evaluation process, and recommends disciplinary action for subordinate personnel
  • revises work assignments to provide accurate and timely food services within established time frames and budgetary guidelines
  • audits the food service department for compliance with sanitation and safety procedures consistent with internal policy and external regulation codes
  • responds immediately in a professional manner to noted deficiencies
  • maintains temperature logs for coolers and freezers or as assigned
  • functions actively as a member of the department management team
  • contributes to problem-solving efforts
  • implements or enforces new or changed departmental standards, policies, or procedures
  • maintains proper security of the department during opening and closing by following established procedures
  • may deposit or be required to create a deposit of cash and assume all risk involved with cash handling procedures
  • conducts in-service training as assigned
  • monitors departmental compliance with in-services and adjusts staffing schedules
  • deposits cash and maintains cash reports
  • actively participates in the safety committee and is a member to ensure safety policies are being enforced and the department is within all safety regulations
