Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in food preparation or customer service preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work individually or as part of a team
- basic math skills for handling cash or orders
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Job Duties
- Always greet customers as they approach the department, provide excellent customer service through entire interaction
- set up food service, kitchen, prep stations, and equipment for business day
- prepare or assist in the preparation of hot and cold food items
- ensure proper utensils, napkins and condiments are available to customers
- check food temperatures before serving following all food safety guidelines
- check cold case temperatures frequently
- visually inspect all products for quality or out of date labels and remove from selling floor as needed
- take orders and serve food items to customers following customers specific requests
- clean, wash and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils, and equipment
- collect and place garbage/compost in designated containers
- may provide guidance and training to other employees performing related work
- report any equipment malfunctions or safety issues to management immediately
- assist in receiving deliveries and putting loads away in an orderly manner
- other duties may be assigned by management
