Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or customer service preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work individually or as part of a team
  • basic math skills for handling cash or orders
  • ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Job Duties

  • Always greet customers as they approach the department, provide excellent customer service through entire interaction
  • set up food service, kitchen, prep stations, and equipment for business day
  • prepare or assist in the preparation of hot and cold food items
  • ensure proper utensils, napkins and condiments are available to customers
  • check food temperatures before serving following all food safety guidelines
  • check cold case temperatures frequently
  • visually inspect all products for quality or out of date labels and remove from selling floor as needed
  • take orders and serve food items to customers following customers specific requests
  • clean, wash and maintain work areas, including floors, facilities, pots, pans, service ware, utensils, and equipment
  • collect and place garbage/compost in designated containers
  • may provide guidance and training to other employees performing related work
  • report any equipment malfunctions or safety issues to management immediately
  • assist in receiving deliveries and putting loads away in an orderly manner
  • other duties may be assigned by management
