Job Requirements
- High school diploma, equivalent, or current high school enrollment required
- six months of experience in food service or customer service required
- age 16 years or older required
- completion of pre-employment criminal record check
- conditional offer drug screening required
- ability to meet physical requirements and working conditions including lifting up to 50 pounds
- ability to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins
- compliance with Civil Service policies and collective bargaining agreements
- ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality

Job Duties
- Assemble resident/patient trays
- prepare foods and beverages such as salads, desserts, fruits, juices, breads
- verify accuracy of trays and load trays on carts
- establish and maintain effective work relationships with clients, supervisors, county employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public
- comply with Civil Service policies, collective bargaining agreements, county and department policies to maintain a safe and quality work environment
- take resident meal orders and enter them into software ensuring accuracy
- deliver trays to dining rooms and assist residents
- assemble and deliver late trays, special ordered food items, and neighborhood floor stock
- rotate items, discard expired products, and label/date perishable food
- document dish machine and refrigerator temperatures and other monitors
- complete food preparation, restock supplies and clean and sanitize work area after meals
- retrieve dish carts and perform cleaning including pots, pans, walls, light fixtures, and floors
- store clean dishes and utensils, sweep and mop kitchen floors
- remain alert to report unsafe or hazardous situations to supervisor
- attend in-service training and online education
- comply with safety requirements and report safety concerns
- respond to emergency codes following department protocols
- comply with HIPPA and privacy requirements
- assist with orientation and training of new food service employees
- participate in department quality assessment activities
- report to work with regular attendance
- perform other duties as assigned
