Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One to three years of food service experience preferred
- Cashier and or computer experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Ability to read and write in English and perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Maintain strong interpersonal skills and ability to build cooperative working relationships
- Ability to work as a team
- Adhere to hospital and department specific safety standards and guidelines

Job Duties
- Prepare a serving area for meal service including setting up salad bar deli grill fryer fruit beverages snacks dessert steam table oatmeal soup condiments and paper supplies
- Obtain utensils needed for serving the correct portion size
- Restock all food supplies during and after service as needed
- Batch cook grill and fryer items for maximum quality and minimum waste
- Serve patients staff and visitors their meals making effort to meet special requests
- Assist patients during meal service including obtaining harder-to-reach items opening cartons and cutting meat
- Operate the cash register by accurately ringing up items processing payments and making change
- Maintain a clean and sanitized service area buss clean and sanitize tables after meals clean assigned serving areas and equipment including cabinets counters fryer grill refrigerator freezers carts and beverage dispensers
- Filter fryer grease and clean and fill salt pepper and sugar shakers
- Prepare measure and assemble ingredients for cold food items including washing peeling and cutting fruit preparing lettuce and tomatoes slicing meat and cheese and other items for salad bar deli or Grab N Go items
- Prepare measure and assemble ingredients for hot food production including washing peeling and cutting fresh vegetables cutting slicing raw meat pulling meat out of freezer labeling dating and placing in cooler putting food items in oven setting timers and removing items
- Evenly cut and place desserts on plates ensuring they look attractive
- Make assemble and deliver patient nourishments snacks
- Take nursing supply inventory and assemble and deliver nursing supplies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
