Job Requirements

  • must be a member of the Church worthy of a temple recommend
  • intermediate competency in reading, writing, and mathematics
  • 1 to 3 years work experience
  • minimum of 6 months previous food preparation experience preferred
  • must be able to obtain food handler permit where required
  • good communication skills in English or local language
  • courteous when dealing with others
  • must be able to read and understand weights, measures, and recipes
  • must be able to lift, move, and maneuver objects weighing up to 40 lbs
  • must be able to work standing for entire shift
  • ability to make repetitive movements
  • must be punctual and able to work independently

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • assists senior level cooks and chefs in food preparation
  • serves food in cafeteria line
  • prepares cold food items such as salad bar and sandwiches
  • cooks simple to intermediate recipes including basic soups, sides, and steamed vegetables
  • bakes simple to intermediate recipes like cookies, pies, cinnamon rolls, and pastries
  • controls waste and rotates inventory using FIFO method
  • ensures proper care of food goods and leftovers
  • receives and stores food orders
  • maintains a clean working area
  • performs other duties as assigned
