Job Requirements
- No experience required
- Basic knowledge in food service
- Ability to read and understand written and oral communications
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar products
- Ability to use e-mail and internet
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs from floor to 5 ft and lift and carry up to 40 lbs at waist height
- Must be able to push/pull with 20 lbs of force
- Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, squat, twist, kneel, and climb during work shift
- May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards and must wear protective clothing as necessary
- May be required to enter patient isolation rooms wearing appropriate coverings during meal service
- Will be exposed to sharp knives, heat, and other hazards in a kitchen environment
Job Qualifications

- Basic knowledge in food service from hospital, hotel, restaurant, or related environment
- Ability to read and understand written and oral communications
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office or similar products

Job Duties
- Assembles patient and mobile meal trays in accordance with approved diet guidelines and portions while adhering to productivity standards
- Loads and transports food carts and delivers patient meal trays to rooms following established procedures
- Provides initial service to cafeteria visitors by serving food and maintaining cleanliness, including operating cash registers and handling cash
- Performs sanitation and cleaning duties in kitchen and cafeteria areas, washing pots, pans, and dishes
- Assists with preparation, delivery, setup, cleanup, and presentation of catered and specialized events
- Prepares snacks, beverages, sandwiches, and other patient food items according to standardized recipes and diet guidelines
- Prepares, arranges, serves, and replenishes supplies of food, beverages, and condiments in retail and kitchen areas
- Delivers and stocks nursing units, doctors' lounges, surgery, and emergency rooms following procedures and productivity standards
- Monitors food temperatures and implements safe food handling practices to prevent foodborne illness
