Job Requirements

  • Experience in quantity food preparation and management
  • Possession of necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes to perform essential functions
  • Ability to stand constantly and walk frequently
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Capability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
  • Willingness to work in hot, humid, and cold environments for required periods
  • Must pass criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance

Job Duties

  • Schedule, train, supervise, and direct the work of assigned personnel
  • Oversee and assist with preparation and serving of several quality food choices
  • Assist in maintaining all kitchen financial records, including deposits, inventories, forms, and reports
  • Review financial reports for accuracy when assigned by the manager
  • Check quality, quantity, and accuracy of weekly deliveries and sign invoices after order verification
  • Oversee storage and rotation of stock
  • Assure compliance to Health Department Regulations
  • Adhere to good safety practices
  • Coordinate breakfast program
  • Assist personnel with cashiering
  • Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills
  • Help inform employees of all matters concerning them within the department and district
  • Affirm good work by employees and instruct where improvement is needed
  • Help gather information about student food preferences and communicate these to the FNS Director
  • Promote objectives of the Food and Nutrition Services program with staff, students, and patrons
  • Promote reimbursable meals and wholesome nutrition items for extra sales
  • Attend district staff development opportunities to update skills
  • Adhere to all district rules, regulations, and policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required
