University Housing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join its dynamic Dining and Culinary Services team as Food Service Assistant Managers. University Housing is a vital department on campus that provides affordable, high-quality meals using locally sourced ingredients to residents, guests, faculty, staff, and students. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • One year or more leadership experience in food service
  • ServSafe certification or ability to be certified within six months
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
  • Compliance with criminal background check
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Valid driver’s license may be required for some positions

Job Qualifications

  • One year or more of leadership experience in a food service environment
  • ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • Preferred one year or more of management experience in food service or retail
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and customer service best practices
  • Ability to lead and develop a diverse team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • High school diploma preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate daily food service activities to ensure efficiency and quality
  • Supervise and lead dining staff and student workers to foster a productive team environment
  • Implement and uphold food quality, presentation, customer service, and food safety standards
  • Interact with customers to provide exceptional service and food product knowledge
  • Oversee operations in high volume residential dining and catering settings
  • Provide support during emergencies by assisting in implementing response plans
  • Monitor adherence to food safety regulations and recommend improvements
