Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • two years experience in food preparation and serving
  • possession or ability to obtain valid California Driver's License
  • possession or ability to obtain valid California Sanitation Certificate
  • satisfactory completion of pre-employment physical assessment

Job Duties

  • Monitor and participate in food preparation and serving according to menu specifications
  • observe food quality and quantity
  • assure proper food temperature
  • ensure compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
  • maintain food quality standards
  • record freezer and refrigerator temperatures
  • prepare and assemble various food items including sandwiches, meats, salads
  • set up and replenish salad bars
  • maintain cleanliness in service areas
  • operate cash register and perform cashiering duties
  • maintain records of sales and cash collected
  • train and supervise assigned food service employees and student workers
  • prepare time sheets
  • estimate and cost food and supplies
  • receive and verify deliveries
  • coordinate storage and disposal of food items
  • prepare lunches and food carts for child care centers
  • maintain inventory records
  • operate various cafeteria equipment
  • assist with catering and special event food services
  • drive vehicle to transport food as needed
  • perform related duties as assigned
