Job Requirements
- Eligibility to pass required pre-placement exam
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work under general supervision
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work in a commercial food service and kitchen environment
- Availability to work scheduled hours from 8 AM to 3:30 PM
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Food handling experience preferred
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices for food preparation, distribution and storage
- Understanding of personal sanitation and hygiene regulations
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Skilled in record keeping and records management
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Job Duties
- Assist the Food Service Department staff with basic food preparation and proper food storage
- Maintain cleanliness of food service, dining, and storage areas
- Perform work in compliance with MPS policies and quality standards
- Clean dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, tables, chairs, floors, and surfaces
- Receive, transport and store food according to sanitary handling standards
- Prepare dining area for meal times and serve meals as directed
- Count products received and shipped and verify quantity, quality, and type of products
